Book look: Choupette & the ‘cartoon sutra’

She loves Paris, Rome and to hide in the bathtub while takeoffs, landings and perfume are, literally, her pet hates. Choupette is anything but a common cat. The fluffy friend of design icon Karl Lagerfeld – who admits having fallen in love with her – has more than 48,000 followers on Twitter. The blue-eyed beauty also shares her adventures in the world of fashion and backstage experiences with thousands on Instagram. Now her very personal diary has been released. “Choupette. Aus dem Leben einer Katze an der Seite von Karl Lagerfeld” documents the kitten’s comfortable travelling mode and her exquisite diet. Fantastic photographs document a shooting with Laetitia Casta, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. I wish I were a cat…

Cartoon fans can add another book to their collection as Holzbaum Verlag presents the ultimate “Cartoonsutra”. The publishing house’s new release features sex-themed illustrations by caricaturists from Germany and other countries. Immensely entertaining, the artists create various amusing scenarios concerning the delicate subject. Their cartoons reveal what Tom Jones is really doing after a show. Parents getting caught having sex by their daughter and creative ways to use kitchen tools are just two of many other issues featured in “Das große Cartoonsutra”. Furthermore, Holzbaum Verlag recently published “Unnützes WienWissen” and “Unnützes WienWissen 2”, two small books packed with anecdotes and facts about the Austrian capital, as well as “Vegane Cartoons”, the perfect book for vegetarians and people sticking to a vegan lifestyle.
